PM Modi meets French President Macron, India and France will keep working together in strategic sectors, says Modi.
The India-France strategic partnership will continue to strengthen. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emanuel Macron met on the fringes of the G-20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both state heads committed to working on their shared vision of bilateral cooperation and international relations inscribed in the Horizon-2047- a roadmap for the India-France partnership. They praised the achievements in the fields of defense, space, and civil nuclear energy through their bilateral cooperation and reiterated the need to speed it up.
PM Modi and President Macron also reviewed the progress of cooperation on India’s National Museum Project.
The two leaders commended the strengthening of trade, investment, and technology ties, including in the areas of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence, as well as the India-France partnership on Digital Public Infrastructure. In this context, the Prime Minister welcomed President Macron’s initiative to organize the forthcoming AI Action Summit in France.
This is the third meeting between Modi and Macron in a year. The first one was when President Macron visited India in January this year as the Chief Guest of the Republic Day celebration. Both leaders again met in Italy in the G-7 Summit.
On the meeting with President Macron Mr. Prime Minister noted, “We talked about how India and France will keep working closely in sectors like space, energy, AI, and other such futuristic areas.” “Our nations will also work closely to enhance people-to-people linkage,” said Modi in his X-post.
