For Dutee Chand, a girl from a poor family in Jajpur, it was an extraordinary challenge that she surmounted with grit before she won on the track on August 26. In 2014 she was dropped from the India Contingent for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games as the Athletic Federation of India disqualified her as a female athlete under the hyper androgen policy of the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF). She fought against it in the Court of Arbitration for Sports and won it. In 2015 IAAF changed the Hyper androgen policy that made Dutee eligible to resume her career in athletics.
