Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia cine actor Mahasweta Rai joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today. In the Bhubaneswar headquarter of the party today she accepted the safron scarf from Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to formally make it to the political party that is pushing hard to take on the Naveen government in the general election next year.
In her maiden address in a political role she said that Narendra Modi for his powerful leadership had inspired her to be a part of the party and exuded confidence of BJP’s victory in Odisha.
Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan after welcoming Mahasweta in the organisation said the party was thankful to Mahaswata as she being a great personality herself and the daughter of great laureate like Rajkishore Rai having faith in Modi’s Ideology has associated herself with BJP to work for linking Odisha with the new India.
With Mahasweta in the party the BJP now has added to its glamour squad. Last month Mihir Das and Anu Chaudhury had joined the party. Pinky Pradhan, Sritam Das and Hari from Ollywood are associated with the party for some time now.
With an aim to achieve a self-set target of 120+ seats from the next year hustings BJP has launched a strategic drive to incorporate noted names from all fields of the society.
The party that claims to have a membership size to 36 lakh had performed significantly in the Panchayat elections last year there by to present itself as credible resort for political aspirants from other political parties and from other fields as well.
