
Bhubaneswar (14 Oct): Congress stalwart late Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra’s family members moved to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today to mark a “vertical split” of Congress in Odisha.
In a ostentious observation in Bhubaneswar today, Upasana Mohapatra, daughter of late Lulu Mohapatra ( Lalatendu Mohapatra as popularly known) and Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra his brother joined BJP along with hundreds of workers from Congress and Lulu Sena in the presence of Unioin Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP Odisha President Basant Panda and other senior leaders of the party.
Congress’ neglect to her father cited Upasana, as the reason of their family’s quiting the party that Lulu Mohapatra had began his political career in.We took the” tough” decision after taking into account of the opinion of the people of Brahmagiri, said Upasana.
Brahmagiri is the assembly segment that Lulu Mohapatra had represented three successive terms till 2009.
People of Odisha are supporting BJP to defeat BJD remarked Dharmendra Pradhan on the event as he welcomed Lulu Sena for taking the strong political decision to join BJP’s fight to uproot the and inefficient Naveen Patnaik Government.
On his twitter blog he noted that Congress had completely lost its relevance in Odisha and calls this development as a “vertical split of Congress” in Odisha while adding Younger element is disgusted with their leadership and joined BJP imposing faith in PM Modi.
