Bhubaneswar: Halt of Rajdhani express at Dhenaknal station has been a big demand of the people in Dhenkanal, ever since the prestigious train became operational in February last year.
Former parliamentarian Rudra Narayan pani represented this public demand before the central government last week when he met Railway Minister Piyush Goel in Delhi.
Dhenkanal is an important railway station in the Dhenkanal district headquarters providing platform to above 2000 passengers daily for rail journey.Mr. Pani says, Given the significant population from a vast area of the Dhenkanal district depending on this station for railway service it genuinely deserves a short halt of the Rajdhani Express.
Besides this one he presented before the Railway Minister host of other demands regarding railway facilities for the undivided Dhenkanal district.
He requested the Railway Minister for increase of frequency of the Amritsar- Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express to daily and for halt of at least one of the three intercity trains at Hindol Road.
“I asked the honorable Railway Minister to expedite the ongoing railway lining work of Talcher- Bimalagarh rail route and the rail route between Bhudhapank and Sukinda. .” said Mr. Pany. These two rail lines will introduce a wide spread area in the undivided Dhenkanal district to the rail-service.
During the meeting, he also emphasized for the loop line between Talcher and Angul. “That facility”, Mr. Pani said, “will save significant travel time that trains have to lose due to engine –end change at Talcher.”
These demands are very important for the people of this area on the aspect of availing rail communication, says Mr. Pani.
