Bhubaneswar: Wednesday was the Second day of the winter session of Odisha Assembly. It opened at 10.30 AM but only to be adjourned in less than a minute till 3 PM. It reassembled in the afternoon but could go on for only 25 minutes with an empty opposition bench before Speaker Pradeep Amat adjourned the house for the day.
The lawmakers claimed the second day also of the house to cry for the farmers.
The members elected to reflect people’s voice in the house felt it more attractive to be engaged outdoor. Here the Speaker pronounced adjournment of the house there the ruling BJD legislators staged a march towards the Governer’s house. They went there to present a memorandum for Paddy Minimum Support Price MSP for the President of India. Yesterday they had placed themselves before the Mahatma Gandhi Statue on the same subject of paddy MSP.
BJP legislator Pradip Purohit called it a drama of the ruling BJD. He alleged that the Speaker had created time for staging that drama by the ruling party. He also raised a point that the state exchequer was losing public money for all those role of the BJD members in the house.
Pradip Purohit who threw all those allegations against BJD is the member of the house. He was found in the well of the house shouting and waving placards at the very moment the house opened for the day. It may be different that because of the Speaker Mr Purohit could get only a minute to perform for the farmers.
The Congress legislators also had chose the well of the house rather than the bench for staging show. However their leader in the assembly Narasingh Mishra took on both BJD and BJP on the same stride. He said both parties in power in the state and centre are shedding only crocodile tear for the farmers.
With the same show for two successive day people of Odisha wish their representatives were done now and expect something meaningful from them in the house where they are sent to.
