Odisha CM Naveen Pattnaik announced Rs five lac as ex-gratia assistance to the nearest kin of the Odia passanger killed in the Kalinga Utkal express train accident on Saturday near Mauzzafarnagar in UP.
An injured person from Odisha in the accident will be provided with Rs 50,000 as relief, stated the CM’s office.
Mr. Naveen Pattnaik has expressed his concern for the passangers in the train that met accident on Saturday. He has directed the Chief Secretary to be in touch with railway authorities and has asked the transport department to work in coordination with the railways and govt. of UP in providing help to the victims in the accident.
Mr. Pattnaik has talked with Railway minister Suresh Prabhu regarding the rescue and relief work of the sufferers in the accident.
A five member team led by Odisha Transport Minister Nrusingha Sahoo has left for the accidet site near Muzaffarnagar to take stock of the situation there. Health Minister Pratap Jena is also part of the team.
As per informations from sources Three persons from Odisha have been identified injured in the mishap while there is no report of any Odia being in the list of 21 killed.Hundred and thirty people are injured.
