There came 6088 new corona cases today in India, taking the tally to 1, 18,447. It is the second jump over 6000 in a day in the last three days. India is adding an average of 4009 cases every day since May 18, the day the 4th phase of the national lockdown began. The massive migrant-labor movement in the last fortnight is mainly adding to the growth of COVID-19 cases in India.
However, as many as 3301 COVID-19 patients were cured in the last 24 hours, and the total number went up to 48533. Thus, the recovery rate has gradually increased to 40.9 percent. The rate is significantly encouraging in the context of global performance.
Though 40.9 percent of the COVID patients could win over the deadly virus, there are 3583 patients who gave in to the disease. The disease killed 148 patients in total yesterday.
With three percent fatality rate, and 41 percent recovery rate, India is managing the COVID-19 in a better way. But, the tough time is coming ahead. The fourth phase of the lockdown has lesser restrictions permitting activities and movements, helpful for Corona spread. Besides, there was a massive movement of migrant-laborers in the country in the last fortnight. Around 25 lakh migrant workers have moved to their native states by train, by bus, even by foot and other means, seen as a potential CORONA impetus.
