PM Narendra Modi says Paradip would be Vikash deep

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the Paradip Oil refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to the nation on Sunday. He said the 15MMTPA refinery will be the base to make the port city Paradip” to Vikas deep”- the island of development. The glorious history of marine trade of Odisha will re-appear said PM Modi.

As the PM counted the Paradip unit of IOCL will produce 78 crore kg of LPG, 500 crore litres of petrol, 660 crore litre of diesel, 250 crore litre of kerosene and ATF, 27 lakh quintal of sulphur and 120 lakh qunital of petroleum coke thus will contribute immensely to give “momentum to the economic development” of the state. Downstream enterprises would grow with feeding from the refinery. This unit would provide raw material for Urea plants.

It will cater to the development aspirations of lakhs of youth of Odisha, said the PM. He said” people of Odisha know the importance of this project in their life, importance of the project in the development of Odisha” and assured with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik being present on the stage that his government would give its best towards the development Of Odisha.

There are initiatives like Make-in- India, Start-up and Stand-up and Mudra to help the youths realise their dreams said Modi while addressing a huge gathering in Paradip for the occasion that IOCL is celebrating as Urja Utshav-celebration of energy.
The Rs 35000cr project of the refinery won the PM; he lauded the indigenously developed Indmax technology in it. At the same time he said that he was not happy with the delay. He said “had the project been completed 15 years back lakhs of youths could have got employment”

Mr. Modi asked the political leadership, bureaucracy, the policy makers to develop a system that would ensure a project start, progress and complete in time as he expressed his unhappiness for interferences hindering the progress of the projects.
