At about 10.45 AM on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi clicked a button, and the Covid vaccination drive opened in India, the largest such movement in the world. It was the moment the entire country has been waiting for the year. The waiting is since the Coronavirus in its new form- a more deadly one, advent India on January 30 last year; and the country had to retreat to a cell in March after assessing its potential threat. And India had to take on its worst-ever health challenge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while introducing the program, wished his best to the people of India. He applauded the scientists and researchers for their dedication to invent the vaccine in such a short time. Wishing a happy and illness-free life, PM Modi asked the people of India to participate in the campaign without any fear and prejudice. “People of India should stay safe from all sorts of rumors and conspiracies against the vaccination.” he said. “Experts approved the vaccine for emergency use after they were assured of its safety and effectiveness.”
