Pay online and get Rs 5 as rebate in LPG cylinder

Now buying cooking gas (LPG) online will get you a discount of Rs5 per cylinder. You will avail the discount in advance.

The net amount that the costumer will have to pay for his refill, will be the deduction result of Rs 5 from the MRP of the cylinder.

Customers can make payment through existing online modes i.e. net banking, credit & debit cards at the time of web-booking their refills, says the statement.

An official statement released on Monday reads,” Oil Marketing Companies, viz IndianOil, BPCL & HPCL are now offering an upfront discount of Rs 5/- on every LPG refill to all LPG customers who will book and pay for their LPG cylinders online.”

This is an Endeavour of the Oil marketing companies under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas to shift more and more consumers to the digital platform for doing payment as a part of the government’s ongoing campaign for a no-cash or less-cash mode of transaction.

Presently oil companies are providing 0.75 percent discount at their retail outlets on purchase of petrol or diesel through debit card, credit card or mobile wallet

In the aftermath of the demonetization exercise the Modi government is pushing it hard  to shift the monetary transactions from the conventional hard-cash mode to digital no-cash mode.
