Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday launched a Programme titled Mu Hero. Mu Odisha- Iam Hero Iam Odisha with an aim to exploit the heroes in the youths in Odisha and to give them recognition.
Inaugurating this campaign of the Biju Yuva Vahini at The Jawaharlal Neheru Indoor Stadium in Cutack CM Patnaik said that there are heroes in every youth of the state; they are the silent heroes; they are the real agent of change; they are the inspiration of the society. “The deeds of these real change agents roll the juggernaut of progress for Odisha.” remarked the CM.
As the part of the event Naveen Patnaik flagged off the Hero mobile vehicles those will travel all the 314 blocks in the next four months. He also opened the website of the Viju Yuva Vahini to attract youths in the age group of 15 and 35 to link with the campaign.
The programme will connect with the potential and aspirations of people from all sections of the society, expects the CM.
In the programme the CM felicitated youths in recognition n of their remarkable talent in different fields. .Jhilli Dalabehera who won bronze in the
Jhilli Dalabehera, who won a bronze medal at the 2018 IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championship; Jafar Iqbal, who was a part of the World Cup Cricket Tournament for the blind; and Mamta Dalai, a six-year-old girl, who got National Bravery Award 2017 were conferred with the common youth uncommon aim, talent award among others.
However the much fanfared programme of the Naveen Government has attracted sharp criticism from the opposition camp.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President on his respond on the Mu Hero Mu Odisha programme said that the State Government has reduced the youth of Odisha to “Zero” in 18 years. The Government has failed to create any scope for them. There are 85 lakh youths without employment in the state.
Taking a jibe at CM Naveen Patnaik on his Hero – in- every household remark Niranjan Patnaik said that every Odia who endures the pain of the Mis-Governance of Biju Janata Dal is a hero.
BJP charges that the ruling party is doing the election campaign in the public fund through the Viju Yuva Vahini.
Viju Yuva Vahini is a government funded programme under Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran scheme of the Government of Odisha. It has got budgetary allocation of Rs 450 crore to set up Biju Yuva Vahinis in the Panchayats and Urban local Bodies.
