India on Saturday won the Trent Bridge One-day against England by six wickets. And as of now it is 2-0 for India in the series with two more clashes remaining. On a turning track Dhoni found to have good enough spinners to tame Cooks England in their own domain.
Dhoni won the toss and to many’s surprise decided to go with bowling, but this is how he works. Bhubanesh and Mohit Sharma though bowled well it was not enough to get them break through. Captain Cook along with Hales were carefully moving ahead in the first hour of the game when Suresh Raina came and removed Hales to give his team the timely needed breakthrough. Hales made 42 soon his captain followed him after scoring 44. Then in came J Root only to be uprooted by Dhoni of a jadeja’s turner just contributing 2 runs. With the score board reading 97 for three the English team were pushed the shell from where they could not find a way to come out.But for Butler’s aggression towards the end the host was feared to be finished under 200. Anyway they managed to hang a score of 227 for India. But Cook did not have just the bowler to tame Dhoni’s force. Ajinkya Rahane who opened the innings in place of Rohit Sharma scored 45 Dhawan failed again but Viratgot some score (40) on the board. Raina played a cameo of 42 but A Rayadu top scored with 64.
To summarize it was hands down victory for India and is satisfying for the Indian fans as it came after their teams test drubbing.
