Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik condemned the violence erupted in Haryana after Godman Ram Rahim Singh was convicted. He expressed his pain for the loss of lives there while his party Biju Janata Dal (BJD) sought Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to quit his post for his failure to maintain law and order in his state against the Dera Sacha Sauda DSS followers ‘rampage there.
Manohar Lal Khattar is entirely responsible for the violence in Haryana, said BJD spokesman and MP Pratap Dev. “Khattar should resign.”

Hoewver Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has exhorted BJD to refrain from playing politics on the Haryana Violence.
In another development Police put tight security around the Dera Sacha Sauda ( DSS) Ashram in Puri to prevent any sort of “flare up” in the wake of DSS head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction on Friday and the subsequent violence and arson in Haryana, Punjab and parts of Delhi and Rajsthan.
A large number of people started gathering near the Dera Sacha Sauda Ashram on the Puri Konark Road with shouts against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh soon after the news of his followers’ vioilence in Haryana and Punjab broke.
Police had the premonition of a lawa and order challenge around the Ashram where sect members and followers were residing. Armed police personnel had been deployed near the ashram to prevent law and order problem near there, said Puri Superintendent of Police Sarthak Sarangi.
A special CBI Court of Panchkulla, Haryana convicted Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, a self confessed godman in a rape case on Friday. Followers of Ram Rahim ran amok at the verdict, mocked at the law and order and ravaged the Panchkulla city. Reports of violence and arson from Sirsa and Punjab also came in.
The violence has already killed 31 people and has left hundreds injured.
