Every new day in India is coming with a Covid record that is more alarming than the previous day. The new Corona cases that came today counted 47262. It was 40715 yesterday. In the last seven days, India has added 295319 new cases.
The second wave of Corona in India is on. Twenty Eight out of 36 states and UTs have witnessed an increase in active Covid cases. India’s caseload of active Covid patients has increased to 395192. This number had dropped to 1.34 lakh in mid-February. Since then it is rising gradually.
There is an overall rise in Corona cases across India, but 81.6 per cent of the new cases are concentrated in six states only. Maharashtra with 28699 comprises 60.72 per cent of the total. Punjab comes next with 2254 which is 4.77 per cent. Karnataka contributed 2010 cases in the last 24 hours. Besides, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat are the three other top contributors.
In terms of active caseload, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Punjab bear 74 per cent of the total in India. Maharashtra alone has 62.95 per cent. It counts 231942.Kerala’s active caseload numbers 24192 which is 6.57 per cent of the total. Punjab, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh also have high active cases.
The number of new deaths is also increasing day by day. As many as 275 persons died of Covid in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra recorded 132 deaths. Punjab saw 53, and Chhattisgarh 20. Six states account for 83.27 per cent of the new deaths. Kerala, Tamilnadu, and Karnataka are among the top six states with high causalities.
