ODISHA WEATHER: COLD WAVE TO CONTINUE FOR TWO MORE DAYS.

Bhubaneswar: At least for the next two days people of Odisha have to deal with the shivering cold. The meteorological prediction of today suggests so.

Mercury has dropped to 6 degree Celsius at Daringbadi to record the lowest in Odisha today while 17 weather stations in the state have recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius. 9.4 degree Celsius was the lowest temperature in Bhubaneswar today.

As per the daily weather report for Odisha released by the Indian Meteorological Department today dry northwesterly wind is prevailing at the lower level over Odisha.  On the basis of which, the IMD predicts, “cold wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.” It will continue to be so till 1st January 2019.

.” Minimum temperatures markedly fell over South Coastal Odisha & appreciably fell over rest Odisha. They were below normal over South Interior Odisha & appreciably below normal over rest Odisha” reads the daily weather report for Odisha dated 29 Dec 2018

The minimum temperature is very likely to fall below normal by 3 dgree to 4 degree during next 3-4 days over the district Odisha.

As per temperature recorded at 8.30 IST of 29th Dec Angul recorded 6.6 degree Celsius and Keonjhar 6.9 degree Celsius to become the two coldest stations after Daringbadi. Sundergarh, Phulbani and Sonepur registered 7 degree Celsius as the lowest temperature there.

Among others, the stations those, experienced sub 10 -degree temperature are balasore, Cuttack, Baripada, jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna, Bolangir and koraput.
