Odisha celebrates Republic Day: CM Naveen Patnaik appealed the people to participate in making the New Odisha

Odisha celebrated the 70th Republic Day with patriotic enthusiasm. Educational institutes, government and private offices, other organizations and individuals found the occasion to express their love and respect for the country by unfurling the tri-color.

To mark the occasion, Governor Ganeshi Lal hoisted the National flag in Bhubaneswar and CM Naveen Patnaik observed the ceremony in Cuttack.

On the occasion, after hoisting the national flag in the Barbati Stadium in Cuttack,  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appealed the people of Odisha to participate in making of a “New Odisha” and acclaimed Odisha’s progress on the front of the development, welfare and empowerment.

He said, Odisha is surging ahead on the path of progress, and its identity now is welfare and empowerment of all including women, youths, farmers, workers, poor and dalits.

He counted achievements in the field of irrigation, electrification and road connectivity as the milestone of the progress of Odisha and reposed confidence in the KALIA as the project to bring about a revolution in the field of agriculture and improve the life of farmers. Twelve lakh families have been benefited through the Kalia, said the CM.
