National Level Workshop on Pharmaceutical developments is held in Berhmpur

A workshop on the title “Quality by Design (QbD) and Its Application in Pharmaceutical Development” has been  organized in Berhampur on the 26th of December. Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences hosted the one day workshop that was the first of its kind  Odisha.

Prof. M. E. Bhanoji Rao, Principal of the institute, in his welcome address underlined the importance of the workshop on Quality by Design (QbD) concept in Pharma industries. Chairperson of the institute Smt. J. Jayalakshmi emphasized on the role of quality healthcare system in society.

Faculties, research scholars and post graduate students from different pharmacy colleges across Odisha and neighboring states attended the workshop.

Among other guests Director Dr. J. Surya Rao, Vice-Principal Prof. B.V.V. Ravi Kumar graced the occasion..

Mr. Sarwar Beg, Research Scientist, Jubilant Generics Ltd. trained the participants on the important aspects of practicing QbD and its vital applications in the field of pharmaceutical drug development process at the workshop. Mr. Beg who is a recipient of various young scientist awards like “Ranbaxy-Sun Pharma Young Researcher Award”, addressed the key issues of quality drug production and quality risk management. With the help of case studies Mr. Beg conducted the workshop in an excellent manner including hand-on training to the participants. He said that implementing QbD in drug product development is the right solution to the quality issues for exporting to US market. Coordinator of the workshop, Mr. Sagar Suman Panda, Asst. Professor addressed the participants, threw insights into various applications of QbD in analytical sciences and also conducted the interactive session.

At the end of the programme Certificates were given away to the participants and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Anjan Kumar during the valedictory session.
