Bhubaneswar: A minor girl was gangraped allegedly by “four BSF armed men” in Koraput on Tuesday marking it a case of shocking snd sensitivity.
Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep shock over the incident and assured free medical treament of the victim who was admitted in the Kunduli PHC in a serious condition and was subsequently shifted to Koraput District Headquarter Medical.
Dharmendra Pradhan, The Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas has said, he was shocked to know about the gang rape of a minor girl in Koraput of Odisha and demanded exemplary action against the culprit.
He wished early recovery of the girl.
The girl, a class IX student was on her way back home from school in Kunduli when four armed men in jungle fatigue accosted her on the way near Sorishpadar village under Pottangi Police station limit and raped her.
As the victim’s brother recounts the incident before the visual media, “My sister, from school had been to Kunduli Market to get a passport size photograph.From there she was returning home in a auto-ricckshaw.The rickshaw dropped her at a distance from the village. She went walking home from there.At a patch of deserted path four armed BSF jawans interrupted her. They gagged her; and taking her aside raped her. There after they abandoned her.She was bleeding. A woman relative of ours rescued her.”
The name of security forces getting attached in the heinous crime in the Mao-sinsitive area of Koraput has made the issue more sensitive.
However senior authority of both CRPF and BSF has denied the involvement of their men in the crime.
CRPF DIG (operation) Ram Charitra said” there is no chance of our force being involved in the crime.” as he clarified that their camp is 40 km away from the crime site, neither had they any movement there on that day. He further added,”our force moves in a team involving a large number of men.”
A special team has been formed to investigate into the matter which is being seen as sensitive.
DGP R.P Sharma has said that the identity of those involved would be established after investigation.
