Free dialysis, Ct-scan, MRI and many more facilities in Odisha Govt Hospitals from January next year.

The Government of Odisha is introducing two significant medical schemes through which free services of diognosis and dialysis will be available in state run hospitals in Odisha from January 1, next year.

Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, as he made the announcement here on Tuesday, said that there would be free to all diagnostic services in government hospitals under a new scheme NIDAN. Besides, facilities of high-end pathology tests, digital X-RAY, CT-Scan and MRI will also be available in these hospitals from March next year, announced the CM.

SAHAY is another initiative of the state government for free dialysis service in hospitals in district headquarters or in Medical colleges.

As many as 127 dialysis machines will be installed in 25 districts headquarter hospitals and also in the Community Health Center (CHC) in Narsinghpur in the district of Cuttack. With this development free dialysis service will be available in 28 of 30 districts in Odisha. Patients belonging to Deogarh and Boudh can avail the service in Sonepur and Angul respectively.

The state government has planned to spend Rs 600 crore in these projects in five years.

The state government is also going to institute weekly outpatient clinics for obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric, nutrition, general medicine, geriatric care, ophthalmology and psychiatry in urban primary health centres (UPHCs). The plan is named Ama- Clinic.

Naveen Pattnaik launched one more plan on that day to provide ANMOL tablets to the ANMs working at the grass root level for doing on line reporting of health data of pregnant women, newborns and mothers.
