Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik filed his nomination papers for the Hinjili Assembly Constituency before the Returning Officer and Sub Collector of Chhatrapur today. Mr. Patnaik, the incumbent lawmaker of this constituency since 2000, was accompanied by the senior leaders and the Ministers from Ganjam district when he approached the Chhatrapur Sub-collector office for nomination for the fifth time in a row.
Hinjili, under the Aska Parliamentary Constituency, will go to poll on April 18, in the second of the 7-phased polling exercise in Odisha.
The Chief Minister’s filing nomination is of great significance as a political event in the context of the ensuing election considering the fact that this part of Odisha, the home turf of the CM, is experiencing prop up of resentment s in the party following some ticket aspirants in the party could not find place in the declared candidate list.
BJD has declared its first list of candidates for 9 Lok Sabha and 54 Bidhan Sabha seats on Monday. The party has changed 8 Lok Sabha and 14 Bidhan Sabha Candidates those had participated in the 2014 elections.
Nomination of the file for the second phase of polling has started from March 19 as per the Chief Election Commission notification.
The CM will also register his candidature for the Bijepur Assembly Constituency on 25TH of this month.
