Dhrmendra Pradhan writes Naveen Patnaik to intervene in providing land to IOCL for its new projects in Odisha.

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has again raised the issue of land for the central projects before the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

On Thursday Mr. Pradhan has written a letter to the Odisha CM seeking his intervention in making land available for two new projects of IOCL in Odisha.

The Central Government run company IOCL is seeking land for its projects in Odisha -PX/PTA  projects, Pet Coke gasification projects and its expansion projects in Paradeep for which it is going to invest almost Rs 40,000 crore. IOCL is also involved in the proposed textile park in Bhadrak.

IOCL is yet to get its required land to which Mr. Pradhan describes as “unfortunate and discouraging.”

He writes, “It is rather unfortunate and discouraging that the Odisha Government has not allotted the required land yet for the projects.”

Mr. Pradhan has been vocal against Naveen Government’s attitude towards the investment proposals of the central government in Odisha. He charges that Naveen Patnaik has made it a tactics to stall projects of the central government in Odisha fearing PM Modi will take the credit.

On 7, this month he had written to Naveen Patnaik to speed up the process of formation of the joint venture between IOCL and IDCO of the Odisha government for a plastic park in Paradip. In September this year he had presented the issue of clearance to the NTPC expansion plan before Naveen Patnaik and sought his intervention in it.

Mr Pradhan claims that Modi government is planning big investments those will open huge employment opportunities for the youths of OdIsha but the state government resort to dilatory tactics for its political objective.
