Dharmendra Pradhan promotes Odisha in Surat investors’ conclave

Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan invited industrialists in Surat to invest in plastics and textiles parks in Odisha, the Minister’s home state that he claims to have “mega opportunities” to be explored.

On Sunday The Minister talked to 35 investors interested in apparel, Textile, yarn and dyeing related activities in a Conclave in Surat unfolding opportunities in Textiles and Plastics downstream sectors in Odisha.

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd organised Textiles and Plastics Investors Conclave 2018 with the theme ‘Purbodaya: Unfolding Mega Opportunities in Textiles & Plastics Downstream Sectors in Odisha’.

Minister Pradhan presented the easy availability of raw materials, skilled workforce and market platform that Odisha can offer in abundance to the investors.They should leverage the opportunity in Odisha, said the Minister while addressing the conclave.

He said that a Textile park was being developed in Bhadrak on 234 acres of land that would provide space to units from across the entire value chain – from polyester fiber to apparel.and added that Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is setting up a unit of Mono Ethyl Glycol (MEG) and a unit of Purified Terepthalic Acid (PTA) at the cost of Rs 13000crore for polyester fiber.

The Paradip Unit of IOCL  the most strategically located PCPCIR( Petroleum, Chemicals, Petrochemicals Investment Region) of the Government of India  is coming up with a mega polypropylene plant that would provide abundant polypropylene raw materials, said Mr Pradhan and appealed the investors to take the advantage of that benefit.

He also showcased the craftsmanship and finesse of Odia people to allure the investors to Odisha as he said the entrepreneurship and the Business acumen blessed in the people of Surat could collaborate with it in Odisha to make the Eastern Coastal state vibrant and prosperous.

Paradip, the port growing fast to become number one in India can provide opportunity to the investors in Odisha to explore the market potential in countries like Vietnam, Indonesia etc. he said.

The eastern India with just 5/6 Kg per-capita plastic consumption is open for a huge market of plastics.He said and added “Odisha provides an excellent investment opportunity, being close to the demand pockets of Eastern UP and West Bengal with unique coastal position to cater export demand.”
