Dharmendra Pradhan on the Utkal Divas vowed with the youth power to make new Odisha.

Bhubaneswar:  Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the day of Utkal Divas yesterday took oath from the youths of odisha to make it new.

In a function on 1st April at Chandrabhaga in Konark the Minister launched the drive ‘Nua Odisha Nirman Abhijan” with some ten thousands of youths of Odisha taking oath along with the minister to work for the development of Odisha.

Mr. Pradhan solemnly vowed to make Odisha free of malnutrition, to keep own village city clean and to actively participate in sports and game.

Upendra Maharana the scion of Bishu Maharana administered the oath while Upasana Buxipatra of the Buxijagabandhu lineage was present on the dais.

He said. It is not the system of the government it the society that with its will power can drive Odisha on the path of progress.

The Odisha system by its own virtue has been working for the welfare of the society for thousands of years without depending on the government, said the Minister as he cited the Odia tradition of SUAD in which relatives gives nutritious food to the expecting mother.

He said that addressing the concerns of malnutrition among the infants is a big challenge, and urged the youth power of the state to work on it.

The Minister further asked the youths to bring the children out on the fields for outdoor games.

Among other senior leaders of BJP Odia cine stars like Mahasweta Ray, Aparajita Mohanty who had joined party recently were also present on the occasion.
