People of Odisha will wake up on Saturday morning to know about 11 more Corona cases in the state over the night, taking the number to 20. The 6th corona positive case had surfaced in Cuttack at about 2.30 pm Friday, followed by three more cases in Bhubaneswar at about 9 pm. But the report of 11 positive cases came in a lot just before midnight. The fifteen new cases on Friday marked the highest single-day corona case hike since March 15.
Of the eleven new cases, seven are linked to the fifth COVID-19 patient from Suryanagar Bhubaneswar. Two cases are from Bhadrak, while one each from Jajpur and Puri. This is as per the information from the Department of Health and Family welfare of the Odisha government. The department has also informed that three of the new 15 cases have Delhi Nizamuddin Markaz connection. So far 28 samples related to the Nizamuddin incident have been tested, informs the Odisha health department. Three out of these have turned out with Coronavirus.

After the Markaz connection in the fresh Corona cases emerged, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the persons having Markaz linkage to come forward with their current health and contact details.

Odisha government has ordered 48 hours shut in three cities-Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Bhadrak, from 8 pm on Friday.
The latest Corona update of Odisha reads total tests in three institutions count 1327; 20 are positive and two have recovered. Active cases stand 18.

Though there is no official statement supporting community transmission of Coronavirus in Odisha, the Surynagar incident has attracted deep assessment, as the 60-year corona affected person did not have a travel history of late. However, the official information suggests there are 30 persons who have come in contact with him. Seven persons including his wife and daughter have tested positive with Coronavirus.
