UNION MINISTER DHARMENDRA PRADHAN LAUNCHES BJP’S MEMBERSHIP DRIVE IN ODISHA ; AIMS TO GET 50 LAKH ENROLMENTS

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is set out to increase its organizational size to 50 lakh in Odisha through the membership drive it has launched on the day of 6th July across India. Union Minister kicked start the campaign in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, the day when PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the national programme at Varanasi.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion in Ekamra- Bhubaneswar assembly constituency, Mr. Pradhan urged the people of Odisha to join BJP and strengthen the party’s effort in fulfilling the aspirations of 130 crore Indians and to devote themselves in building a New India.

The Union Minister said, “We are aiming at increasing the party’s membership from 36 lakh to 50 lakh. The mega drive to induct new members will be carried out in all the 36,000 booths across the state,

Youth, women, poor, tribal and Dalit are the focus areas where BJP will work on to attract members from, said Mr. Pradhan.

BJP, which claims to have 36 lakh members size in Odisha, has garnered 92 lakh popular votes through the hustings in April this year and rode to second position replacing Congress. However, it needs a lot to do to catch up with BJD -the ruling party in the state.

B JP MP Aparajita Sarangi also addressed the gathering. Newly elected to Rajya Sabha  Aswini Vaishnav senior leaders like Damodar Rout, Kharabela Swain and Prakash Mishra were among the prominent figures present on the occasion
