Ministry of Railways signs MoU with Government of Odisha for joint Redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Station as a Multi-Modal Transport Hub

Ministry of Railway and the Government of Odisha has collaborated to develop Bhubaneswar railway station to a Multi-Modal transport hub.  The two parties signed an MOU in this regard in New Delhi on Thursday.

With diversified facilities and amenities, the modernized Bhubaneswar station will be a first of its kind in India. The center-state joint project of Rs 130 crore will have a new terminal building for Railway Station and a city bus terminal. It will also have a Public Car Parking, an Air concourse, and other allied utilities.

The project is slated to take three years for completion.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik complimented the Railway Ministry for coming forward to develop the project. He said it will be a world-class multi-modal transport hub and could be a first-of-its-kind in the country.

Railway Minister appreciated Odisha government’s support in the project as he added that Indian Railways would match with world standards with its infrastructure.

Union Petroleum Minister said that the project will be of great benefit for the people of Odisha. It will boost tourism in Odisha and will become a catalyst for development in Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan said.
