There are 190 registered cases of stone-pelting and law and order in Jammu & Kashmir, leading to 765 arrests since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5. From 1st January 2019 to 4th August 2019, 361 such cases were registered.
The government of India, who claims to have curbed the stone-pelting menace in the Article-370 free Himalayan state, presented the figure in the parliament today. It also claimed to have found persons and organizations with Hurriyat link behind the stone-pelting incidents.
The government stated that NIA had charge-sheeted 18 persons in terror funding cases.
On the other aspects of the post-Art.370 scenario of Jammu& Kashmir, the statement mentions 99.7percent attendance in schools in the ongoing school examinations. Initially, it was thin, stated the government.
In the last six months, tourist foot-fall in Jammu & Kashmir counts 34, 10,219, of which 12,934 were from abroad. Earning through tourism during this period was Rs25.12 crore.
The Government informed that 950 incidents of ceasefire violations along Line of Control from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir were reported during August 2019 to October 2019.
The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri G. Kishan Reddy stated these in a written reply to questions in the Lok Sabha today.
