22nd Refining and Petrochemicals Technology Meet to be held from 13th-15th January 2018 in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The 22nd edition of the Refining and Petrochemical Technology Meet will take plac in Bhubaneswar from 13th to 15th of this month.Centre for High Technology (CHT) in Association with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) will organise the event with the theme ‘Emerging Trends in Downstream Hydrocarbons’.

Uniion Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and enterpreneurship Dharmendr pradhan will open the three day event, informed U Deka Additional Director CHT in a press meet in Bhubaneswar today. He said that the Union Minister is bringing the event to Odisha under the Purvodaya campaign that is part of the look East policy of the Government of India.

 

Around 900 oil industry professionals from India and abroad are expected to participate in the 3 day Meet, out of which about 100 nos. are foreign delegates from 44 Global Companies of 11 countries. In the meet, leaders of the oil companies and domain experts will share their thoughts on various important aspects of Hydrocarbon Sector.

 

As per the press statrmrnt Leading global consultants/technology providers/catalyst manufacturers like Shell, Honeywell UOP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Haldor Topsoe, Axens, DuPont, KBR, GTC, ICIS, Invista, Bechtel, Fluor Daniel, Linde, Dow, JNC Japan, Petronas, GC Russia, KNT Russia, TCC China, Albemarle, etc. will be participating in the Meet and making technical presentations. For the first time-ever delegates from countries like Russia, Japan, China, Malaysia, UAE, are going to be part of the event among the delegates of around 50 countries, who have confirmed their participation.

The content of this meet shall be enriched with the oral presentation of 69 papers (including 46 from foreign companies) spread over 15 Technical Sessions on emerging Trends in Refining & Petrochemicals, Refining and Beyond, Advances in Refining Technology, Innovations in Refining, Gasification, PVC, Styrene & Derivatives, Olefins, Energy Efficiency Improvement, Advances in Catalyst Management, Biomass Upgradation, 2G Ethanol, Automation etc. Another 79 technical papers will be covered in the Poster Sessions.

 

12 exhibition stalls are also being put up by reputed vendors/consultants/service providers for showcasing their technology/products/services.

 

On the sidelines of the event, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will be holding a meeting with the CEOs of various companies participating in the meet for initiation of Skill Development Centres at different technical institutes at Bhubaneswar.

 

A Report on “Enhancing Refinery Capacity by 2040” will also be released during the meet.
